Danish Refugee Council is the largest humanitarian NGO in Denmark and one of the five largest NGOs in the world. The Finance Department

The Finance Department is one of the four support functions in headquarters and consists of around 45 talented and dedicated people who are responsible for DRC’s financial affairs globally in close cooperation with the operation. You will join a team of 11 dedicated colleagues.

About the job

You will be involved in the corporate internal and external financial reporting in DRC and for defining and maintaining the policies for our financial processes. Your main goal will be to provide timely financial reports of high quality for management as well as the annual report. You will also be in the process of interim audit and year-end audit with our statutory external auditors.

DRC went live the 1st of January 2019 with our new cloud-based ERP system (Microsoft Dynamics 365) and the implementation of this system will have a strong focus across the entire organization for the rest of 2019 and into 2020. A major task in the position will be to follow this implementation together with the rest of the team in Finance, and to contribute to solutions and problem solving.

As Group Finance Specialist you will be reporting to the Head of Financial Reporting and Compliance.

About you

To be successful in this role you need to have:

  • At least five years' of experience within Finance in an international organization (e.g. in an NGO or an international commercial organization)
  • Well documented experience with statutory financial reporting and preferably also experience with institutional donors
  • University degree or equivalent within a relevant area
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English and Danish
  • Experience with implementation of ERP solutions will be an advantage.
