Job Description

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

The Group Financial Planning & Analysis Manager is responsible for a number of finance activities and initiatives within a complex global professional services firm. Operations are conducted in nine primary contracting jurisdictions and more than 90 other countries/currencies across the globe where over 180 active projects are executed by more than 2,750 employees. The position manages financial analysis and reporting of the organisation through finance teams in Australia, the United States, the United Kingdom and the United Arab Emirates. The position ensures financial reporting is accurate for decision making as well as evolving business needs.  The Group Financial Planning & Analysis Manager will provide guidance in the development of the business cost structures and key performance indicators.  Business cost structures include the monitoring of the pool and allocation structures for operating expense to reflect business objectives and value propositions.  The position will work closely with the others around the organisation on forecasting.

Primary responsibilities principally revolve around forecasting, KPI development and reporting. In particular you will be expected to:


  • Work collaboratively with the finance teams across the regions and the corporate functions to ensure group frozen and rolling forecasts are accurate.
  • Consolidation, review and analytics, and recommendations to the Group Finance and Tax Director
  • Identification of reporting limitations
  • Integration of acquisitions within the group forecast
  • Ownership of three-way cashflow forecast model

KPI Dashboard:

  • Development of KPI Dashboards for the group
  • Development in collaboration with regional finance teams of Regional KPI Dashboards

Accounting costing and allocation:

  • Leading with the regional finance teams the setting of the pools and allocations for each financial year
  • Gather data and perform robust strategic and financial analysis, in particular financial modelling, to support decision making in relation to M&A activity
  • Exception monitoring and clearing including those sent via e-mail and need to be corrected in Costpoint

Finance Policies:

  • Development, implementation and maintenance of relevant Financial/Accounting policies
  • Others as assigned by the Group Finance and Tax Director


  • Develop a reporting framework for the regions to be provided to the Group Finance and Tax Director including commentary on actual vs forecast


  • Knowledge of the Organisation and Account structures
  • Setting up pools in Costpoint
  • Exception monitoring and clearing including those sent via e-mail and need to be corrected in Costpoint

Essential Knowledge, Skills and Experience

  • Degree in a business related discipline with masters level achievement preferred
  • Broad based experience in Finance positions preferably within both small and large organisations as well as reflecting global operations and professional services activities
  • Experience in a job cost accounting environment and the professional services sector is highly preferred
  • Knowledge of government contracting rules and regulations preferred
  • Demonstrated personal and situational awareness to build stakeholder confidence and positive relationships with individuals across all levels and areas of the firm
  • Strategic planning experience including the translation of business strategy into financial operations
  • Listening, learning, empowering and result-orientated leadership style and management practice
  • Demonstrated respect for diversity and inclusion and works to actively promote an inclusive work environment and good working relationships amongst other people
  • High standard of written, verbal, and presentation communication skills including public speaking
  • Proven ability to convey financial concepts to non-financial managers (training, coaching, tool development)
  • Willingness to travel and work abroad from time to time
  • Excellent skills in technology tools including Microsoft Office particularly advanced Excel, ERP systems (CostPoint preferred), reporting tools (e.g. Cognos, Cobra, PM Compass)
