This role exits to grow World Vision Australia’s (WVA) Christian Faith and leverage WVA’s Christian Identity (Our DNA) as we transform our organisation for impact.

The Opportunity to lead a team of Changemakers:

This role exists to support the Christian witness of WVA through WVA’s planned work to grow our Christian Identity; provide input to the Leadership Team and management of the organisation, as well as overseeing the provision of pastoral care:

Develop programmes to support staff in understanding WVA’s Christian identity and nurture staff who are on their own spiritual journey.

Provide resources which enable staff to grow as Christian leaders, equipping them with biblical and theological insights and practices to fulfil WVA's Christian commitments in their life and work.

As well:

  • Support the development of Christian Leadership and coach/mentor our leadership team to lead and inspire employees
  • Improve/demonstrate Christ-centred leadership abilities that translates our Christian commitments, identity and core values into excellent work in WVA setting.
  • Ensure pastoral care is available for employees
  • Participate in WVI Peer Support network
  • Coordinate and lead weekly staff devotions
  • Lead devotional practices embedded within groups/team rituals to continue to ensure employees grow faith within the WVA workplace
  • Engage with research, academic, and missiology leaders/institutions to strengthen our practice and approaches to development.
  • Provide theological insights supporting our work to transform culture.
  • Articulation of our Christian commitments, identity, and core values in biblical reflections and practical guidance on our work with children, families, communities and our staff.
  • Collaborate across the P&C team to support hiring, on boarding, orientation and ongoing capacity building of staff leading to a well-coordinated approach to staff preparedness to work in WVA.
  • Develop Recruitment processes requiring assessment of fit to role requirements for Christian faith is achieved in accordance with Christian hiring principles
  • Support the P&C strategy through tactical activities.
  • Project manage the Strategic Initiative 5 program of work

Who we are looking for:

  • Ideally 5-10 years Proven Pastoral ministry
  • Proven skills in senior Leadership Mentoring and/or Coaching
  • Ability to relate effectively with the breadth of WV from Board and senior leadership groups to volunteer staff. Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Cross cultural experience including familiarity with diverse faith backgrounds
  • Theological Degree (preferred but not essential)
  • Counselling qualification or Psychology Masters
  • Deep understanding of adult learning and change, knowledge in preparing learning resources and experience in resource development.
  • Completion of Critical Incident Stress Management training and/or willingness to be trained.

This role is a permanent contract operating in a full-time capacity and will be based at our head office in Burwood East, Victoria.
