Marie Stopes International is a global organisation providing personalised contraception and safe abortion services to women and girls. The Role:

The Head of Projects will be responsible for project management; including reporting, monitoring, evaluation and research of all BLM projects. (S)he will oversee a department, with direct line management of Senior Programme Managers and the Monitoring, Evaluation and Research team. The Head of Projects will work collaboratively with the Channel leads and other departments to ensure operational synergies are optimized through cross-functional working.  (S)he will also work closely with the Director Strategy & Development to build and maintain excellent donor and stakeholder relations.

About you:

To be considered for the role you will have proven experience in international development proposal design, ideally in the NGO space. You will also have:

  • Experience in project management, from conception to delivery
  • Field level NGO experience, ideally in healthcare programming
  • Significant experience of managing donor funded project cycles including technical and financial components
  • Diplomatic and effective communicator at all levels
  • Solid organizational skills
  • Negotiating, influencing and conflict management skills
  • Knowledge of USAID, DFID and other donor reporting requirements
  • Strategic thinker, results oriented
  • Excellent analytical skills
  • Supportive personnel management style, with the ability to capacity build
  • Degree level education in health sciences, social sciences or international development.
  • A post-graduate level degree in a relevant discipline is preferred.
  • Fluent in both oral and written English.
