UNICEF has its only field office in Cotabato City, in Mindanao, southern Philippines. The city is the centre of the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM), a newly created Muslim-majority region that is the country’s poorest, and where the situation of children lags behind that of children elsewhere in the country. Mindanao is conflict-affected and prone to frequent earthquakes and typhoon storms.
How can you make a difference?
The Health Specialist provides professional technical expertise for overall management of the Health, Nutrition and WASH programme of the field office, with most support provided to the BARMM. The Health Specialist is responsible for the development, planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation and administration of the programme.
Under the direct Supervision of the Chief of Mindanao Field Office (MFO), and with technical guidance and oversight from the Chief of Health, Manila, the post shall undertake the following tasks:
