Thinking of a Career in Emergency Management?
- BY Nicole Pelette
Oxfam is a global movement of people who won’t live with the injustice of poverty. Together we save and rebuild lives in disasters. We help people build better lives for themselves. We speak out on the big issues that keep people poor, like inequality, discrimination against women and climate change. And we won’t stop until every person on the planet can live without poverty.
Oxfam’s Global Humanitarian Team (GHT) is a single entity that works alongside country teams to support and deliver Oxfam’s humanitarian work worldwide. It brings together existing humanitarian teams and approaches to provide a common one-Oxfam approach to humanitarian work.
The GHT Human Resources Team ensures Oxfam has the management, technical and logistical capacity, available through the proper skill and experience of its team, to scale up and respond rapidly to major humanitarian emergencies anywhere in the world.
The HR Manager (GHT) provides senior HR management for the GHT HR Team working closely with GHT Director and team leads. The HR Manager will be responsible for; leading Oxfam’s Humanitarian HR Strategy, overseeing operational management of HR Team service delivery, and supporting country teams with capacity building to enable appropriate response in a humanitarian context.
