Job Description

As part of a global movement for change, we are working together to end world poverty and injustice. About the Job: To be part of a team that ensures selected country programmes and their partners have the capacity to respond rapidly to major humanitarian emergencies and that the resilience of target communities is developed. The Humanitarian Desk Officer will build and maintain strong networks with key country staff, regional offices and Working Oxford based departments in order to coordinate support to coordinate support to selected key countries. About You: We are looking for people that have an understanding and commitment to humanitarian relief work at an implementation and strategic level. You will need significant field experience over multiple countries in a humanitarian context and proven skills in negotiating with external audiences. You must have the ability to analyse, interpret and communicate complex program information along with excellent planning, coordination and prioritisation skills plus the ability to accomplish tasks within tight deadlines. The position requires the ability to travel for up to 3 months per year and it is desirable to have a working knowledge of additional languages especially French and Arabic.
