To work in close collaboration with field team members, and WCO Bangladesh ICT team, for resolving complex ICT related issues, in collaboration with regional ICT service desk, and the regional ICT teams. Support other members of the Technology Services Team for maintenance of existing setup and new implementations. Serve as backup for other team members in their absence. Carry out any other duty relevant to the job as required by supervisor.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensures WHO ICT strategies, security policies, technology standards, guidelines and procedures are well introduced and implemented at field offices.
  •  Participates in the development and implementation of ICT annual plan and Standard.
  • Operating Procedures for ICT services.
  • Ensures effective functioning, installation, operation and maintenance of all WHO field offices hardware equipment.
  • Carries out system and hardware maintenance tasks, such as running specialized network monitoring and system protection, to ensure technology is running effectively.
  • Trouble-shoots and monitors network problems at field offices. Ensures that globally managed desktop environment (Synergy) and network resources are protected from malware.
  • Implements field office backup and restores procedures for users’ local drives, maintaining backup logs and off-site backup storage.
  •  Liaise with Country Office ICT team in ensuring field offices business continuity and disaster recovery processes and procedures including backup and restore of server and local storage facilities.
  •  Resolves queries independently, escalating if required, to ensure that standard IT questions are answered, and accurate information is provided to staff.
  •  Provides standard technical training to end users of commonly used technology and systems, to assist WHO staff in conducting their work.
  • Acts as a backup for other members of the country office ICT infrastructure Services team and carries out any other duties relevant to the job, as required by the Supervisor.

Requirements:

  •  Bachelor’s degree in computer science would be an asset.
  •  Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL v3) Certification and Cisco Certified.
  • Network Associate (CCNA) certification would be an advantage.
  • At least 7 or more years of progressively responsible work experience in information technology, including network administration, management of hardware and software platforms, telecommunication facilities, knowledge of windows-based packages and applications.
  • Proficiency with WHO standard software such as MS Office 2003/2011, Windows XP and windows 7, MS Exchange server 2003/2010. University Degree in IT would be an asset.
