Under the supervision of the Syria MEAL Manager, the Information Management Coordinator (IMC) oversees data collection, analysis, and dissemination to support evidence-based decisions and effective program delivery. The IMC designs and maintains data systems and tools, ensuring quality, consistency, and confidentiality. They also produce maps, dashboards, and reports to support strategic planning, advocacy, and coordination, turning data into actionable insights to enhance program quality.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee safe collection, entry, storage, and management of Protection and Health data, in line with RI’s Protocol for the Protection of Program Data (PPPD).
  • Design, develop, and maintain databases and digital data collection tools (e.g., KoBo Toolbox) for program activities.
  • Ensure high standards of data protection, confidentiality, and security for both beneficiaries and staff.
  • Lead efforts to harmonize data collection tools, reporting templates, and information flows across hubs in coordination with MEAL and program teams.
  • Strengthen reporting systems to deliver timely, accurate, and user-friendly information products for both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Develop innovative data visualization and presentation methods tailored to diverse audiences.
  • Explore and implement automation solutions (e.g., Power Automate) to streamline data workflows and feedback loops.
  • Explore and pilot AI-driven tools to enhance data analysis, feedback tracking, and reporting efficiency according to RI global policies.Clean, verify, and process field data to ensure high quality.
  • Analyze data to spot trends and support decisions.
  • Contribute to Protection Monitoring, advocacy, and context reports.
  • Coordinate timely submission of PWG, sub-group 4W/3W, and regional reports.
  • Support tool design, data collection, and analysis for ad-hoc assessments.
  • Create user-friendly dashboards with standard visuals; train stakeholders on use and interpretation.
  • Develop systems to track data quality issues with error logs, validation rules, and auto-checks.
  • Conduct regular DQAs to ensure data accuracy, completeness, and reliability.

Requirements:

  •  Bachelor’s degree or higher in information management, data science, statistics, social sciences, or a related field.
  •  Minimum 6 years of experience in information management within humanitarian or development settings.
  •  Proven expertise in managing health and protection-related data, including GBV and safeguarding-sensitive information.
  •   Advanced proficiency in data analysis and visualization tools, including Power BI, Excel (pivot tables, dashboards), and SQL-based systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to design and manage databases, and apply digital tools for feedback tracking and automation (e.g., KoBo Toolbox, Power Automate).
  • Strong understanding of ethical data management, including confidentiality, privacy, and responsible data use.
  • Experience in leading or contributing to cross-functional teams, including capacity building of partners and internal staff.
  • Excellent communication and reporting skills, with the ability to synthesize complex data for diverse audiences.
  • Fluency in Arabic and English, both written and spoken.
