The Information Management Officer will directly support the Database Expert in enhancing data management systems across the mission. This includes designing and coding XLSForm standards (ODKForm) surveys, contributing to data visualization through Power BI dashboards, supporting the development of Excel-based project management and activity tracking tools, and assisting in database creation for improved tracking of project implementation, beneficiary reach, PDM results, and FCRM feedback. The officer will also play a key role in training MEAL and project teams in ODK coding, Excel, Power Bi, Data protection and overall information management best practices.

Responsibilities:

  • Support each programme in creating tailored tools for the collection, processing, analysis, visualization and archiving of data.
  • Support the centralization and harmonization of tools and data specific to each programme and MEAL.
  • In collaboration with the Database Expert, help to ensure the quality and relevance of the monitoring tools, data processing and analyses produced by the team (questionnaires, databases, maps, etc.).
  • Provide technical support and trainings of staff on data management tools and ensure their proper use by MEAL and programme teams.
  • Ensure the quality of data collected in the field.
  • Produce visuals following data processing, in support of MEAL and programme teams.
  • Design and code digital survey forms using XLSForm standards (ODK XForm)
  • Support CommCare app development and form customization.
  • Provide quality assurance on form logic, constraints, and translations.
  • Assist in creating and managing project-specific databases to support data cleaning, management, and analysis.
  • Provide support on Red Rose platform where applicable.
  • Contribute to improving existing Excel trackers (formulas, data validation, structure optimization).
  • MEAL Post-Distribution Monitoring (PDM) data.
  • Beneficiary reach visualizations.
  • Feedback and Complaint Response Mechanism (FCRM) trends.
  • Project monitoring and indicator tracking.
  • Deliver trainings and provide one-on-one coaching where needed.
  • Support in transferring this knowledge to JERU partners through sustainable training materials & delivery
  • Ensure the security of digital data relating to all MEAL and programme activities.

Requirements:

  • Proficient in XLS form standards design and logic.
  • Experience using CommCare: app development, form design
  • Excellent knowledge of Excel, Power Query, and Power BI.
  • Familiarity with Red Rose platform.
  • Intermediate to fluent level of verbal and written English.
  • Strong training and facilitation skills.
  • Knowledge of SQL, R, Python, or any BI system (Zoho, Tableau, Qlik) is an asset.
  •  Knowledge of labor discipline, labor protection and safety rules, fire-prevention requirements, industrial sanitation and labor hygiene rules.
