The Information Management Officer (NOA) for the Child Protection AoR will be responsible for the essential information systems and data sets needed for, inter alia, the coordination, operations, strategic decision-making, advocacy, and fund-raising of the Child Protection AoR in Mozambique.

Information management is essential to the overall effectiveness of the child protection response. The IMO will have an integral role in ensuring that the child protection community delivers coordinated, high-quality programs cooperatively and coherently towards achieving common objectives, avoiding duplication, and ensuring areas of need are prioritized through each step of the humanitarian program cycle.

The IMO will report to the Child Protection AoR Coordinators at national and Sub-national levels. The post will be based in Cabo Delgado with frequent field visits to Nampula, Zambezia, Sofala, Maputo provinces and other affected natural disaster or conflict-driven locations.
Summary of results-based key functions/accountabilities:

  • Innovation, knowledge management, and capacity building

To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as or equivalent experience in data science, geographic sciences (GIS), engineering, information technology, statistics, or similar
  • A minimum of 2 years of relevant professional experience in
  • Work experience with UN/NGOs.
  • Experience in sectorial coordination and understanding of the Mozambique emergency context.
  • Fluency in spoken and written English and Portuguese is required. 

Other Skills:

  • Mapping (with software like QGIS, ArcGIS).
  • Experience in producing visualization tools and dashboards (using Tableau or PowerBI).
  • Excellent knowledge of, and experience in using GIS and databases. adobe illustrator, photoshop or In Design, Microsoft Excel. Experience with Open Data Kit and mobile data collection is an asset.
