Job Description

We are seeking a motivated professional individual to join our Syria Response Office’s team. The ideal candidate will have a university degree in relevant university field (Information Systems management, business administration, computer science or similar) with an experience in Data analysis. This post will be responsible for the daily data entry associated with the Complaints and Feedback Mechanism for NRC Syria Response Office operations.

Duties and responsibilities

Generic responsibilities

  • Ensure adherence with NRC policies, tools, handbooks and guidelines
  • Implement delegated M&E and information management support portfolio according to plan of action
  • Prepare and develop status reports as required by management
  • Ensure proper filing of documents
  • Ensure that projects target beneficiaries most in need, and explore and asses new and better ways to assist
  • Promote and share ideas for technical improvement

Specific responsibilities

  • Perform a daily categorization of centrally received feedback to ensure that feedback is referred to the correct office or individual for action;
  • Follow up with AO counterparts to ensure feedback and complaints are adequately addressed;
  • Respond to feedback that is addressable at a central level;
  • Monitor case response times and encourage a prompt response to all feedback;
  • Develop and maintain frequently asked questions documents;
  • Provide support and guidance to area office staff in their FHM responsibilities;
  • Provide recommendations for fine-tuning and strengthening the FHM.

By interfaces, NRC means processes and projects that are interlinked with other departments/units or persons. Relevant interfaces for this position are:

  • M&E Department / Information Management (Success) Team

  • Beneficiaries and target communities, as well as key external stakeholders


  • Bachelor degree
  • Experience with data analysis entry;
  • Experience with qualitative and quantitative data analysis;
  • Understanding of humanitarian programming and humanitarian principles.
  • Knowledge of the context in Syria desired;
  • Experience with case management software desired;
  • Fluency in English and Arabic both written and verbal;
  • Some background in protection issues in humanitarian contexts and experience in a role involving communicating with distressed and vulnerable people desired.
