The Information Management Specialist (IMS) will play a key role in supporting UNICEF South Sudan’s Emergency Unit by managing data systems, analyzing risks, and disseminating information to enhance evidence-based planning and improve child well-being. 

Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate the handover of the INFORM Risk Model to a government entity.
  • Conduct technical trainings and develop transition documentation.
  • Collaborate with government counterparts to promote tool adoption and usage.
  • Maintain and improve the HPM tool to ensure complete and timely data submission.
  • Assist the PMER team in gradually taking full ownership of HPM.
  • Support monthly monitoring processes including data flow, analysis, and dissemination.
  • Develop monthly Situation Reports (SitReps) to visually present program progress.
  • Transfer all emergency-related data activities to PMER, including HPM and other office-wide data tools.
  • Train PMER focal points on tool usage, data collection, maintenance, and quality control.
  • Conduct monthly HPM and SitRep trainings.
  • Collaborate with PMER focal points to.
  • Confirm HPM data submissions with Information Management Officers (IMOs).
  • Ensure consistency between figures and narratives.
  • Transfer data into the SitRep platform.

Requirements:

  • Advanced University Degree (masters) in a subject area relevant to information management, GIS, data management and at least 5 years’ work experience relevant to this post.
  • Formal training in data / information management and GIS an advantage
  • Experience working on integration of contextual and programmatic data in humanitarian and development programming is an asset.
  • English Fluency required.
