About the Organization:
Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP) is an organisation based in the United Kingdom which supports companies and cities to disclose the environmental impact of major corporations. They aim to make environmental reporting and risk management a business norm, and drive disclosure, insight and action towards a sustainable economy. Since 2002 over 8,400 companies have publicly disclosed environmental information through CDP.
Are you passionate about the environment and tackling climate change, deforestation and the water crisis? Do you want to make a difference? Are you looking to start your career in the environmental sector? CDP, one of the world’s leading Environmental charities, is seeking an individual to support CDP’s corporate engagement work and CDP’s Cities, States and Regions (CStaR) work in Japan. In this role, you will support companies and sub-national governments in the process of disclosing their environmental data.
About Corporate Engagement: Companies that measure their environmental risks are better able to manage them strategically. Also, companies that disclose environmental information to investors and purchasers are better able to manage their relationships with their stakeholders. Last year, over 8,400 companies with over 50% of global market capitalization disclosed environmental data through CDP. Our team engages with and supports companies in the process of disclosing their data to CDP.
About CStaR: Cities, States and Regions that measure their environmental risks are better able to manage emissions, build resilience, protect themselves from climate impacts and create better places for people to live and work. Last year, over 920 cities, states and regions disclosed their environmental data through CDP and ICLEI’s unified reporting system. Our team engages with all types of sub-national governments in order to advance their climate actions.

The successful candidate will work two or three days per week. The internship will last for eight months and the intern will work with and report to the respective program manager.
