Description :     

The International Water Management Institute (IWMI) is looking for a motivated and highly competent individual for the position of Manager – Organizational Learning. The selected candidate will be responsible for planning, developing and delivering professional development, leadership development and organizational development (OD) initiatives to ensure that the Institute develops and retains the expertise needed to achieve strategic goals and objectives. The person will also be responsible for planning and contributing to the institute-wide performance management process, and for managing the training budget. The position holder will report to the Director, Human Resources, and will be based at IWMI’s headquarters in Colombo, Sri Lanka. In Capacity Building:

You will:

• develop an operational strategy for IWMI’s capacity building pr ogram, and ensure management buy in and delivery on the various initiatives;
• work closely with the Management Team members to develop instit utional and academic partnerships, globally. Administer arrangements for IWMI’s PhD scholarship program, and other internship and alumni programs;
• assist in organizing roundtable policy dialogues, seminars and short courses for capacity building purposes, as and when requi red;
• help to establish and administer programs for staff on secondme nts and sabbaticals as part of the capacity building program, a nd develop agreements based on negotiations and discussions;
• be responsible for maintaining databases and providing periodic reports on all areas of work as part of the Management Informa tion System (MIS); and
• assist in preparing annual budgets for capacity building on the basis of ongoing commitments, proposals in the pipeline and consultations with relevant staff on additional anticipated commitments. Monitor expenses against the estimated allocation through monthly project reports. In Organizational Development: You will be responsible for designing and delivering OD, and change management strategies, processes and interventions that support IWMI’s ambition to be a high performing organization; to include initiatives which foster a high performance culture, where valued learning, continuous improvement and diversity are the norm. You will:
