WE is seeking a Key Accounts Manager dedicated to the WE at Walgreens Partnership to join our dynamic and impactful team. Based out of Illinois, the Key Accounts Manager will split their time between Walgreens’ Deerfield Head Quarters and WE Chicago office, and WE Head Quarters in Toronto.

WE and Walgreens are partnered to impact lives, empowering youth to change the world and customers to make a difference through their everyday choices. The partnership is a combination of charitable event and programming sponsorship, media activation, coupled with dynamic retail activations and employee engagement.

The Key Account Manager is responsible, with the Customer Business Team, for developing a powerful customer partnership in order to deliver a Walgreens Joint Business Plan and WE revenue targets. This is accomplished through; strategic partnership discussions, detailed revenue planning and forecasting; leading the execution of commercial strategies; and developing and executing the customer Joint Business Plan. They must work closely with Partnership Managers, Product Development and for WE and the Marketing, Merchandising, Human Resources and Executives at Walgreens.

This individual must be passionate and committed to the core beliefs of the organization—the WE.org Philosophy.

The position is based out of Chicago, working both out of Walgreens Head Office and WE Regional Office-Chicago.

Your Impacts:

Drive and grow corporate philanthropy through sponsorship and cause marketing
Drive licensed-based programs opportunities with the merchant team
Support development of marketing strategy and activate partnership narrative in store and corporate headquarters
Work with Walgreens vendors for in-store activations
Liaise with loyalty program network with new vendor partners and new category opportunities
Solid relationship management of Walgreens & other consumer packaged goods partners
Proactively seek and identify partnership growth opportunities
Drive partnership renewals
Represent and drive WE’s organizational priorities
Work closely with leadership and executive team
Execute on strategies that drive long-term partner engagement
Information management and project management of complex multi-year partnership commitments
Track and meet all partnership deliverables and milestones
Presentation and strategy preparation for partners
Honouring partner stakeholders
Develop and drive broad customer relationships across all levels
Responsible and accountable to lead the WE cross-functional team in order to support the delivery of the customer JBP
Responsible and accountable to lead the external communication through score-carding and business reviews
Plan contingencies
Responsible for selling in all innovation and business opportunities to the customer, including distribution and performance expectations
Responsible for preparing the annual Walgreens business plan
Responsible for regular weekly and monthly retail customer and WE reporting
Make presentations to Walgreens’ employees, vendors, leadership

What you bring:

Undergraduate Degree (ex. business, marketing, communications, project management etc.)
5 years’ experience in a sales or account management role, preferably in a CPG environment
Demonstrated ability to influence senior decision makers in organizations and to develop long term relationships
Demonstrate sound knowledge of trends in corporate social responsibility, corporate philanthropy and cause marketing
Strong interpersonal skills and communication skills in all internal and external relations
Pro-active, responsive and timely in approach
Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple responsibilities within tight deadlines
Good understanding of project management methodologies and workflow
Results-oriented, with ability to multi-task and cope with changing priorities
Ability to work individually and in a team setting
Ability to communicate (written and verbal) effectively and lead multiple projects
Advanced proficiency in MS Office Tools (Excel, PowerPoint & Access)
Experience with Salesforce an asset
Experience in loyalty a benefit
Demonstrated ability to work remotely, between offices or out of headquarters an asset
Public speaking and presentation skills
