Thinking of a Career in Emergency Management?
- BY Nicole Pelette
We’re looking for an exceptional fundraiser to ensure our regular givers and lottery players feel great about their commitment to Oxfam. This varied role requires fundraising and marketing experience, leadership skills, and a passion for supporter care.
Working in the Supporter Development Team, you’ll take the lead on communication plans to ensure donors in our regular giving and lottery programmes have a great experience of supporting Oxfam and that these programmes achieve income and retention targets. You’ll also work with colleagues across the team to coordinate fundraising activities, giving donors the opportunity to support in new ways and ensuring that communication plans are aligned.
What we’re looking for
We’re looking for someone who understands what it takes to inspire donors to continue to support Oxfam. You’ll have sound knowledge of direct marketing and fundraising, and experience of delivering campaigns using mail, email, telephone and SMS. Good project management, communication and influencing skills are a must, as is the ability to be flexible in the event of an appeal for an unexpected humanitarian emergency. Equally at home briefing external agencies or building relationships within the Oxfam team, you’ll show strong interpersonal skills, plus the drive, initiative and can-do attitude to inspire donors to keep supporting Oxfam.
A simple, inescapable truth underlines everything we do at Oxfam. There’s enough wealth in this world to go around. It’s not unfortunate that people live in poverty. It’s unjustifiable. It’s not just their problem. It’s ours too. And with the right support, we can beat poverty and injustice. Thousands of people already commit their time and talents to our campaigning, humanitarian and long-term development projects. Now we’re looking for yours.
