The purpose of the role is to lead on monitoring and analysis to ensure that IFRC public communications is audience-focused.
The role will monitor and assess the success of communications activities around the strategy 2030 and Agenda for Renewal priorities (climate, health, migration, etc.) and to help with the perception and positioning of the IFRC and its leadership.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

Comprehensive analytical reports:
  • Generate comprehensive crisis reports that provide an in-depth analysis of outcomes
  • Create regular reports that evaluate media coverage and highlight the most recent developments in relevant areas
  • Prepare a monthly management report
  • Contribute to the Secretary General's report to the Governing Board
  • Deliver reports specific to campaigns and events
  • Environmental scanning: Produce daily/weekly/regular and ad hoc monitoring and analysis as agreed/requested by manager/departmental leadership
  • Provide feedback on the impact of media strategies and offer recommendations based on the obtained results
Media:
  • Configure monitoring dashboards for selected news outlets
  • Set up listening dashboards with real time alert, focusing on media monitoring for humanitarian news updates and IFRC mentions

Social:
  • Configure monitoring dashboards for all our platforms (Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, TikTok, YouTube)
  • Set up social listening dashboards that track important metrics, such as geographic monitoring, mentions, hashtags, and sentiment analysis
  • Monitor and manage community management activities and develop automated response for specific queries
  • Build social dashboards to provide a comprehensive performance overview and identify the best-performing content for leadership
Training:
  • Conduct appropriate training sessions for HQ and regional teams, guiding them on how to effectively use Sprinklr
  • Teach HQ & regions on how to set up customized dashboard for specific purposes such as crisis, campaigns and trend analysis
  • Manage relationship with monitoring platform provider
Education:
  • Proficient in analyzing media content and social media trends to extract meaningful insights.
  • Capable of utilizing analytics software to track and interpret relevant data.
  • Able to identify key themes, sentiments, and emerging issues.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for conveying insights and analysis effectively.
  • Capable of producing clear, concise reports for diverse audiences.
  • Proficient in providing timely insights for crisis communication and reputation management.
  • Strong analytical skills to address challenges in media content analysis and social media monitoring
Experience:
  • Several years of experience in analytics (8+ years)
  • Experience with advanced monitoring tools and platforms for media and social media analysis.
Knowledge, Skills and Languages:
  • Fluent in English.
