World Vision UK is managing a DFID-funded Disasters and Emergencies Preparedness Programme (DEPP) grant on behalf of the Communicating with Disaster Affected Communities (CDAC) Network. The CDAC Network is a growing platform of more than 30 humanitarian, media development, social innovation, technology, and telecommunication organisations, dedicated to saving lives and making aid more effective through communication, information exchange and community engagement. Under the DEPP grant the CDAC Network is working with in-country partners in Bangladesh, South Sudan and the Philippines to pilot a range of tools and approaches to inform and improve the way the humanitarian sector prepares for and responds to emergencies.
Critical to changing policy and practice is the provision of a strong evidence base; and this is a key focus for the programme in the coming months. Working alongside the DEPP Programme Manager, the Monitoring Evaluation and Learning (MEL) Officer will work closely with programme partners to capture and provide critical analysis of monitoring data and lessons learned, and lead on the analysis, packaging and presentation of an evidence base geared towards influencing the wider humanitarian sector.There is a strong possibility of extension to the end of March 2018.
