UNICEF will be implementing the phase 2 of a KOICA funded Multidimensional Child Protection project 2025 – 2028 which aims to strengthen services for vulnerable Children in the areas of Education, WASH, Birth Registration, Child Protection, and the Establishment of Strong Municipality Coordination mechanisms for vulnerable Children (Child Friendly Municipalities) in the East Region of Cameroon. The Project will be implemented by UNICEF field office in Bertoua with technical support from the UNICEF Yaounde Country Office.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the monitoring and reporting of the projects and activities.
  • Develop and implement a robust monitoring and evaluation system that will ensure tracking of project/ programme results at different levels (outputs, outcomes and impact).
  • Assist with the collection, analysis and management of data and information
  • Create and maintain a database for project performance indicators, track progress toward indicators, analyze data and verify the quality of the data.
  • Ensure the work-plan and performance management plan (PMPs) is in line with approved proposals, and support regular review and update as needed.
  • Suggest strategies to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the project
  • Recommend further improvement of the logical framework.
  • Prepare project progress reports, monitoring reports, and other relevant documents. This includes quarterly and annual reports.
  • Contribute to the preparation of reports on the findings and lessons learned
  • Contribute to internal and external communication strategy to disseminate good practices.
  • Support the Bertoua Sub-Office to plan, organize and conduct field missions and meetings with local authorities, community members and other stakeholders to plan, manage and monitor projects and activities.
  • Review monthly progress reports from partners and ensure evidence is provided to back-up information and data.
  • Prepare Issues Log and Risk Log for the project.
  • Ensure data collected includes performance measures and indicators for Gender and Social Inclusion.
  • Support Capacity building and training of M&E support staff (evaluators) on M&E technical and conceptual areas.
  • Actively participate in office’s meetings and discussions on M&E and other related topics.
  • Any other related tasks, as they may be required or assigned by the supervisor.

Education:

Advanced university degree in social sciences, statistics, development, international relations, economics, planning or other related fields.  

Work Experience:

5 years of experience in programme planning, development and implementation, Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, Reporting and Learning (MEAL).

Language Requirements:

Fluent in English is requirement.
