Under the guidance and direct supervision of the Deputy Executive Director, Field Results and Project Manager (Results Monitoring), the Monitoring Officer will provide professional expertise and assistance to the Office of the Deputy Executive Director for Field Results, with a focus on monitoring & evaluation, planning and performance monitorina. oreoaration of work olans and reoortina.
The Monitoring Officer is accountable for a) the accomplishment of the Collaborating for Results analysis, b) ensuring key monitoring and evaluation findings for the design and roll-out of a survey on innovations for scale, and c) performance monitoring and reporting activities to allow for a smooth operation of the Office of the Deputy Executive Director, Field Results, in collaboration with key stakeholders within the Office of the Executive Director and other key divisions in UNICEF.
How can you make a difference?
The Monitoring officer is critical for the successful completion of the Collaboration for Results (C4R) initiative. The purpose of C4R is to address UNICEF’s limited ability to globally monitor SP/CPD targets, accelerate progress toward results, and hold ourselves accountable for enhancing the reporting mechanism and the achievement of SP and CPD commitments to the Board.
The Monitoring officer will be a critical resource to ensure that the C4R initiative continues with the positive momentum its built. The C4R initiative plans to find ways to further align UNICEF’s CPDs to the Strategic Plan, and enable more frequent discussions to occur on the results of the Strategic plan (at multiple levels throughout the organization), allowing for management decisions to be made to accelerate results in areas requiring special assistance.
The Monitoring Officer’s contribution to the Innovations for Scale initiative will also be valuable in pursuit of the organization’s innovation agenda.
Summary of results-based key functions/accountabilities:
Collaborating for Results (60%)
Perform analysis on key CPD and SP targets in the framework of Collaborating for Results, and coordinate the C4R working group which brings together colleagues from Programme Division, the Field Results Group, Supply Division and the Division of Policy and Research.

Innovations for scale (25%)
Support the cross-organizational process of identification and pursuit of innovations across HQ divisions, regions and countries, ensuring key monitoring and evaluation findings obtained through engagement with internal and external stakeholders are taken into account.

Undertake planning, performance monitoring and reporting activities to allow for a smooth operation of the Office of the Deputy Executive Director for Field Results, in collaboration with key stakeholders within the Office of the Executive Director and other key divisions in UNICEF.
