Job Description

Purpose of Activity/Assignment: The purpose/objective of the assignment is to design, pre-test and develop context-specific and local culture sensitive visuals, materials and products as relevant in English, Bengali and Burmese in line UNICEF Branding Guidelines and policies.

Key Activities and Outputs:

  • Conceptualize, design and pre-test of communication materials
  • Final design and facilitate sign off communication materials for printing and electronic distribution;
  • Improve and edit art-work, photos, charts and other graphic elements;
  • Layout and design information and communication materials (banners, posters, flipcharts, booklets, leaflets, books, calendars, bulletins, flyers, cards etc.)
  • Create animations for illustrative purposes such as animations, presentations and more advanced solutions (design of CD/DVD packaging, graphic digitalization);
  • Custom photo editing (restoration, noise reduction, tonal adjustment)
  • Deliver creative graphic and technical solutions for use of new media (virtual 3D words/boxes, postcards etc)

Supporting Sections/sectors:

  • Align development of the IEC materials with the sector standards, with support from the C4D team.
  • Implement the graphic guidelines in all UNICEF SBCC products.

Deliverables/Outputs:

  • Design, pre-test and produce creative and graphic materials such as Poster, flipchart, leaflet, booklet, animations, infographic etc. on health, nutrition, protection, WASH and education as well as on various ongoing/upcoming campaign
  • A monthly summary report

To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have:

  • An advanced university degree (Master’s or higher) in Graphic Design/Fine Arts. *A first University Degree in a relevant field combined with 2 additional years of professional experience may be accepted in lieu of an Advanced University Degree.
  • A minimum of 3 years of relevant professional experience in graphic design, including the use of design software such as Adobe Design Premium, In-Design, CorelDraw, web design tools such as Dreamweaver and Flash, etc.
  • Knowledge of standard software packages, including MS Office– MS Access–MS Visio –Adobe Acrobat;
  • Developing country work experience and/or familiarity with emergency is considered an asset.
  • Fluency in English is required. Knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian or Spanish) or a local language is an asset.
