UNOPS Thematic Action Center for Peace and Security - PSC
The Peace and Security Cluster (PSC) UNOPS Thematic Actions Center is located in its North American Office. It is one of the main service providers in the field of mine action, with the Mine Action Service (SLAM), UNDP, UNICEF, the governments of the countries affected by landmines, as well as other partners in the field of mine action. The Center is responsible for administering, supporting and overseeing the day-to-day management of field project offices, responding to both client requests and UNOPS rules and regulations.
The Center is led by the Director of PSC, who has overall authority and is accountable for the results of the Thematic Action Center for Mine Action to its clients.
The CAR faces a weapon problem and explosive risk contamination following longstanding and recent armed conflicts.
