The tasks envisaged for this consultancy are to be carried out through the Emergency Centre for Transboundary Animal Diseases (ECTAD), which is currently implementing a number of projects in various countries in Africa, Asia and NENA regions. Within the ECTAD framework, the Animal Production and Health Division (AGA) is closely working with the Emergency and Rehabilitation Division (TCE) under the Strategic Program 5 to support various aspects of the animal health programme of FAO including the Emerging Pandemic Threats (EPT) and Global Health Security Agenda Programmes. One Health (OH) approach is cross-cutting the USAID-funded GHSA/EPT portfolio and represents an integrated approach for preventing and mitigating health threats at the Animal-Human-Plant-Environment interfaces with the objective of achieving public health, food and nutrition security, sustainable ecosystems and fair trade facilitation.
The One Health M&E Analyst will work under the overall policy and technical guidance of the FAO Chief Veterinary Officer (CVO)/Chief, Animal Health Service (AGAH), the direct supervision of the Programme Officer coordinating EPT M&E activities, in close collaboration with the Global EPT/GHSA Coordinator, the One Health coordinators in Africa and Asia, the TCE Emergency and Rehabilitation Officers, and the ECTAD country/regional teams.
The One Health M&E Analyst will support the development of performance metrics for the One Health work conducted by FAO as part of the GHSA/EPT portfolio, taking stock of the existing global tools and country needs.
