- BY Nicole Pelette
Location: Oxford, or other locations would be considered.
For a location outside of Oxford the following criteria would need to be met:
must be based in location with Oxfam office that is able to host the post and establish a contract
must be a location with good and affordable transport/flight connections
must have excellent phone and internet connections
applicant must have right to work in that country
Oxfam’s goals - an end to injustice and creation of a fairer world – will not be reached or sustained by Oxfam alone. Partners bring the knowledge, legitimacy, skills, lasting connections to people living in poverty, leadership and influence, essential to our work together.
In response to a Keystone Accountability survey Oxfam programme teams are conducting meetings with partners to inform partnership improvement plans. In addition, at a corporate level, Oxfam at a corporate level has prioritised:
Improving our learning from and in partnerships
Improving capacity building in partnership
Improving our support to partner influencing
This includes support to programmes on effective set up of partnerships with a range of different non-traditional partners including the private sector, universities, government, exiting responsibly from partnerships that are no longer strategic and investing in long term strategic partnerships.
As part of its Gender Justice strategy and a commitment to further women’s rights, Oxfam is also committed to a significant investment in and scale up of partnership with women’s organisations.
Oxfam requires additional capacity for a six month period in order to respond to high levels of demand for practical partnership capacity building for this organisational priority.
This is a fixed term 6 month contract.
