About the Opportunity
The Program Manager, Middle East and North Africa Programs, manages a portfolio of US Department of State, Near East Affairs (NEA) grants and the project partners; advises Internews on Middle East and North Africa issues generally; and develops strategic plans for additional nd fuure work related to Internews - Middle East and North Africa programs. In this capacity, the Program Manager serves as a project director for the NEA projects and acts as an advisor to Internews senior management on other Middle East and North Africa programs globally. In particular, the Program Manager will advise the project team on questions of project viability, secure engagement strategies for in-country partners, and in-country political and cultural context.
Right now, all Internews' headquarters offices are closed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and staff will work remotely until at least 1 July 2021. Until then, this position will also function remotely. Preference will be given to candidates residing in or willing to relocate to the Washington, DC area; however, candidates from any location will be considered. You should apply with the understanding that work hours will need to be coordinated to align in part with those of colleagues in the UTC -5 time zone.
