WRI India is seeking Two Project Associates for its Flagship study on ‘Approaches for Doubling Farmers Income in India: Agro-Ecological System-Based Considerations’ led by the Economics Centre in Delhi. It’s a newly established Centre which strives to provide a better understanding of the value that ecosystems provide to the country’s economic and social development and carry out actionable research at the intersection of environment and human well-being.
Following the format of Global Office Economics Centre, it uses an economic lens to analyze problems and solutions and develop tools and guidance for decision makers to understand economic benefits, costs, and how they are distributed across the economy and between different groups. Economic evidence and guidance are critical to catalyze action and investments on climate change, restoration of degraded lands, renewable energy buying commitments, sustainable water management, conservation of agroecological systems, protection of vital ecosystems, better management natural resources; and introduce incentive based mechanisms for a healthy and sustainable ecosystems and economic systems. Furthermore, it is also essential to understand the economic and societal risks of inaction on climate change, loss of biodiversity and overuse of scarce natural resources.
