Job Description

Purpose of the Role

Under the supervision of the Program Manager, the incumbent will be responsible for initiating and maintaining collaborative relationships with local representatives of UNICEF, UNFPA, MONUSCO, International NGOs and local NGOs working within the framework of the response to the humanitarian emergency in the province of South Kivu, Territory of Uvira, Fizi and Shabunda. It should strengthen collaboration with the various child protection actors in the area of ​​inclusive and quality basic education for children victims of sexual and gender-based violence, and represent Save the Children in all Humanitarian Coordination insta nces and platforms and participate in joint evaluation and monitoring missions and ensure that Save the Children contributions are taken into account in all joint documents and reports including SITREP. As necessary, the incumbent will be required to work in addition to his usual duties and outside normal working hours.

Qualifications and Experience

Essential

  • Be of Congolese nationality;
  • Have a work experience of at least 7 (seven) years in the field of child protection, SGBV and education in emergency situations;
  • Have proven work experience in the context of a humanitarian crisis and in camps for refugees and displaced persons;
  • Have work experience in the field of community mobilization and support for victims of violence;
  • Have the capacity to analyze and adapt approaches to different environments and actors;
  • Good ability to communicate, work in a team and develop relationships with local authorities, communities and local organizations.

Desirable

  • Work experience as a project coordinator;
  • Experience working in the field of Education and Child Protection with Save the Children in South Kivu;
  • Familiarity with the norms and working standards of Save the Children International.
