Job Description

Position Summary

Search is seeking qualified candidates for a Project Intern position to support the team management of one of our key programs. The project will support local community leaders and civil society organizations in addressing relevant local needs in a sensitive manner, through a series of training and dialogue activities, and small grants. These activities are part of the implementation of a 10-month project aiming to empower local leaders and civil society actors to lead peacebuilding and conflict transformation, and working on strengthening their role in meeting local needs in a comprehensive method and constructive approach to prevent violent escalation of tensions. The Project Intern will support the Project team while working closely with relevant stakeholders and assist in the day-to-day operations and implementation of the project’s activities from March 2021 until August 2021.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with Search internal administrative, technical and financial reporting standards, procedures and requirements
  • Collaborate with project team throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring that project runs on time and budget
  • Provide active role and use critical judgment in the development of all project deliverables
  • Plan meetings, trainings and workshops, and assist in relevant invitations and logistical preparations
  • Contribute to quality and timely submission of all project deliverables and documentation as assigned by the Project Manager
  • Undertake field visits and attend meetings with partner and other relevant stakeholders when needed and as assigned by the Project Manager
  • Maintain and regularly update Project folder in Google Drive
  • Effectively communicate with the Project Manager for any issues related to the project

Required Profile

Education

  • BA (completed or in progress) in Business Administration, Social Sciences, Political Sciences, International Relations, Conflict Resolution, Peacebuilding, or any relevant field of study or equivalent experience;

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in Arabic is mandatory;
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office;
  • Self-starter, able to work independently, and willing to take on tasks small and large;
  • Commitment to peacebuilding, human rights, gender equality and non-discrimination;
