The United Nations Human Settlements Programme, UN-Habitat, is the United Nations agency for Human Settlements. It is mandated by the UN General Assembly to promote socially and environmentally sustainable towns and cities with the goal of providing adequate shelter for all. This position is in the Regional Programme Division.
Responsibilities:
Within delegated authority, the Consultant will be responsible for the following duties with an overall mission to establish a project management tool for the Cities Investment Facility.
Develop the digital infrastructure for the CIF project management tool.
Develop a custom design based on the project specifications.
Preparing documentation/manuals for the operation and maintenance of the system.
Conduct training sessions for internal stakeholders on the use of the system.
Migrating the CIF website from wordpress hosting system.
Design an online learning module integrated into the migrated website.
Provide technical backstopping to address any problems with the website and the tool.
Conduct an in-depth technical audit of the project specifications to identify the best practices and elements that may be missing and present the gaps identified.
Requirements:
First-level university degree in Software Engineering, Computer Sciences, Information Technology and other relate courses is required.
4-year relevant experience in planning, design, development, implementation and maintenance of data and digital solutions and software systems.
English and French are the working languages of the UN Secretariat. Fluency (both oral and written) in English is required.
