We are searching for

The role of the EVE Project Manager is to coordinate and lead the implementation of the Erasmus+ Virtual Exchange project – by working in close partnership with the consortium partners and subcontractors. The project manager will also represent the project towards the European Commission and other relevant stakeholders. The project manager will ensure a collective cohesive work plan that is conducive to the consortium’s expected result of diverse and active participation in the EVE project; the implementation of a diverse group of high impact Virtual Exchange program; timely compliance with all reporting expectations; and successful amplification and communication of this pilot program to set up for possible future expansion.

EVE is a groundbreaking project: The aim of the EVE consortium is to allow as many young people in Europe and South Mediterranean countries to engage in a meaningful cross-cultural experience as part of their formal or non-formal education through Virtual Exchange. EVE will encourage intercultural dialogue through online people-to- people interactions; promote different models of Virtual Exchange; enhance critical thinking and media literacy; foster soft skills and employability; support the Paris Declaration to promote citizenship; and strengthen the youth dimension of the EU neighbourhood policy. Moreover, through its proposed program, the consortium and subcontractors will open participants’ attitudes towards cultural others and reduce their susceptibility to extremist ideologies, in turn promoting social cohesion.

The EVE Project Manager will hold a key role in the EVE consortium, built on a respectful and effective teaming process, trust and a spirit of collaboration, as well as recognition of the strength of the collective rather than individual contributions.

Your contribution

The roles and responsibilities include:

  • Managing the contract and lead the implementation of the project: in charge of all actions related to project management
  • Responsible for ensuring quality assurance of the project
  • Leading the overall monitoring and evaluation of the EVE initiative, including of the Virtual Exchange programs carried out.
  • Coordinating and managing the overall program, consortium and subcontractors
  • Ensuring effective planning, team management and task coordination between consortium members and subcontractors
  • Ensuring strong intra-consortium communication: responsible for putting in place a robust, reliable, and regular communication and management system consisting of check-ins and email updates for gathering information from the project promoters implementing EVE projects.
  • Ensuring management of the governance mechanisms of the project and to convene the Advisory Council of the project.

You are… You meet the following qualifications:

The optimal candidate has extensive project management experience, having managed multiple consortium-led multi-country projects funded by the European Commission. The candidate has a profound understanding of the value of working in consortia, and has an inclusive and action-oriented leadership style, sensitive to intercultural and distance team-work dynamics.

Education: Advanced Degree in a relevant subject.

  • Outstanding coordination skills working with numerous partners across countries and time zones.
  • Natural team leader - able to bring out the best in team players and build a cohesive team.
  • Strong writing, presentation and communication skills.
  • Excellent management, interpersonal, networking and facilitation skills.
  • Proactive, detail oriented and highly organized with an ability to multi-task.
  • Financial management skills, including budget management.
  • Solution-orientated positive personality.
  • Computer literacy proficiency, including solid working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
  • Excellent written and spoken English. Desirable: French, and/or Arabic.


  • Preferably 10 years of experience in project management, including overseeing project delivery, quality control of delivered service, monitoring and evaluation, client orientation and conflict resolution experience in projects of similar size and coverage (2 million EUR, at least 10 countries covered),
  • Experience in management of teams of at least 10 people.
  • Experience in the fields of virtual exchange, peacebuilding, education and/or youth.
  • Experience in several South Mediterranean countries covered by the tender.
  • Experience in working closely with the European Commission.

2017 Goals

  • To ensure the successful delivery of the EVE contract to the contracting agency.
