Thinking of a Career in Emergency Management?
- BY Nicole Pelette
Oxfam GB has embarked on a process of organisational transformation in order to become a more relevant, more impactful, and more influential INGO in the 21st century. The transformation process will help change key areas of Oxfam GB’s profile and work as we adapt to a new vision of One Oxfam by 2020. This will involve fundamental changes to our organisational identity, business processes, and operating model as we make Oxfam GB better able to respond to the challenges of our confederation and the larger world of international development. The organisation-wide initiative is known as Project Transform.
One of the six dedicated projects within Transform is focussed on the transformation of the programme funding function within Oxfam GB.
The purpose of this role is to work with the Head of Department and project team in managing this change process within our function over the next year. The process is intended to ensure that PFD adapts to the changing confederation architecture for institutional fundraising and the new operating model; that we adapt to the changing thematic programme priorities of Oxfam GB; and that we adapt to the requirements of Oxfam in mobilising resources at scale from institutional donors to deliver on our programme ambitions in future.
The project is organised according to separate stages of change – scoping, design, and implementation – over an initial 12 month period. The project manager will be expected to convene and coordinate the project working group to provide leadership to this initiative. The project manager will be expected to develop and implement a detailed work plan; to facilitate the design of core business processes, structures, and ways of working; and to help guide the transition of fundraising operations at regional and country level over the next year.
