Job Description

The Public Health Foundation of India (PHFI) is working towards building a healthier India. It is helping to address the limited institutional and systems capacity in India by strengthening education and training, advancing research and technology and facilitating policy and practice in the area of Public Health. PHFI is headquartered in New Delhi with national presence through its constituent units of regional Indian Institutes of Public Health (IIPHs) and Centers of Applied Research in core public health themes. The Foundation, established in 2006 as a public private initiative, is governed by an independent board comprising of senior government officials, eminent Indian and International academic and leaders, civil society representatives and corporate leaders.

Project Brief:

Public Health Foundation of India (PHFI) is in the process to launch various health Technologies including Point of Care technology, with the Goal to improve the delivery of reproductive, maternal, new-born and child health services, through technology intervention. The Project is being implemented in various States of the country. The Intervention is consisting of a portable device called “Swasthya Slate” capable of performing multiple diagnostic tests at the Point of Care site. Its functionality has been used to screen the population for various diseases and refer the identified cases to higher facilities for management.


  • Provide full technological and programmatic support to the users for implementing Swasthya Slate in various locations.
  • Provide training to the users and other functionaries on various functionalities of Swasthya Slate and other technologies in the field.
  • Resolve any issue pertaining to the usage of Swasthya Slate in coordination with the Central team.
  • Support supplies of consumables required for implementing the system.
  • Coordinate with the central team, technology team, operations team at Delhi and state headquarters.
  • To coordinate with the respective key functionaries of the allotted district/ State on periodic basis for updating the status of the swasthya slate operations in the field.
  • Maintain stock and supplies inventory.
  • Coordinate with the call centre and the IT team at Delhi for sorting out the issues in the field.
  • Maintain the formats related to the operations in the field and update them on regular basis and maintain the files for the required data at the district level.
  • Maintain proper billing and invoicing system for the travel claims.
  • Prepare the monthly updates and share with the respective state health functionaries for regular updates.
  • Any other activity as per the need of programme or tasks assigned by the supervisor from time to time.


Essential: Master’s degree in technical (Medical/ Dental, Engineering, Computers, Technology etc.).


  • Health Management.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
  • Experience of using Point of care technology and its deployment in the past.



  • 3 years of field experience, preferably in public health or technology intervention sector.
  • Knowledge of Maternal and Child health/ Health Sector would be an added advantage.
