Job Description


Under the supervision of the program coordinator, you ensure the proper functioning of medical activities.

Your main missions are as follows:

Medical consultation at the care center

  •  Receiving users during general medicine consultations and directing them, if necessary, to the appropriate structures
  •  Participating in the implementation, respect and quality of treatment protocols
  •  Refer users who need it require social care or a health education session
  •  Provide medical follow-up for users - Provide information on
  • consultation and monitoring tools
  •  Support medical and paramedical teams in the management of priorities and medical emergencies

Pharmacy management

  •  Ensure the proper conservation of drugs and respect for quality standards
  •  Ensure the management of the stock of drugs and small medical equipment

Support for mobile teams: UMSO and medical surveys

  •  Prepare and ensure the proper maintenance of medical equipment for the deployment of activities
  •  Ensure the general organization of mobile activities and the management of medical and paramedical teams (briefing, debriefing, collection of data)
  •  Support the medical and paramedical teams on the management of priorities and medical emergencies

Definition of health education messages in collaboration with the community leader

  •  Communicate the health priorities observed during the consultations
  •  Participate in the definition of awareness messages
  •  Provide feedback on observed behavior changes

Medico-social support

  •  Identify and refer to the person in charge of the social section any person falling within the criteria for social support
  •  Participate in the validation committee for specific social files
  •  Communicate any information or document that may support the user's social file ( issuance of a medical certificate, treatment of chronic illness, disability, etc.) in compliance with medical confidentiality

Animation of medical and paramedical volunteer teams

  •  Participate in the recruitment and support of volunteers (capacity building, meetings)
  •  Organize the monthly schedule of activities
  •  Set up treatment protocols and flow charts

Animation of the network of partners

  •  Maintain a network with health professionals present in the region
  •  Raise awareness among partners about the issue of access to care
  •  Participate in meetings with partners

Project monitoring and evaluation

  •  Participate in the collection, processing and analysis of medical data
  •  Write a medical activity report on a regular basis
  •  Participate in the drafting of the annual activity report or specific studies
  •  Write testimonials, in particular regarding the difficulties of access to healthcare

Quality of practices

  •  Contribute to health monitoring in connection with activities in the field and in collaboration with the general coordinator
  •  Keep informed of the laws in force, national or specific to Mayotte
  •  Identify medical innovations in progress for possible application on the project
  •  Communicate and actively participate in the regional Sentinel network
  •  Lead the internal MdM “Vigilant Caregivers” network
  •  Contribute to the identification and animation of ongoing or future advocacy in order to guarantee better access to healthcare and to health for all.
