Tearfund has an exciting opportunity for a Policy Officer to join our Southern & East Africa (SEA) Team.
Our work in SEA includes a range of projects with local Christian NGOs and churches. The Policy Officer works closely with each country office in SEA to build the capacity of Tearfund staff, partners and churches across the region to advocate in their respective context, as well as lead research and policy formulation on issues relating to the regional strategy.
We are looking for someone with a good understanding of development and humanitarian issues, plus international relations.
Do you have experience of:
Working with partner organisations
Capacity building in advocacy
Do you have:
The ability to research and critically analyse information to design advocacy initiatives.
Good written English language and communication skills (Portuguese language skills are desirable)
Are you a committed Christian with a concern for the poor and commitment to social justice?

This role will be based in Southern or East Africa and we can only accept applications from candidates with the right to live and work in region.
Salary: Competitive salary and benefits package (according to local market).
Contract: Full-time until 31st March 2019
