he Operational Risk & Security Control unit is part of the Risk & Compliance department. The unit is responsible for developing and maintaining NIB's framework for operational risk and security – including information security. We work to improve the visibility of NIB’s non-financial risk profile and provide senior management with information needed to take decisions conscious of risks. Furthermore, the unit is mandated to improve the resilience of NIB through various improvements, both in physical and cyber security areas. We provide guidance, oversight and advice to all NIB’s business units. We are on a development journey that offers demanding and intriguing tasks for candidates with diverse backgrounds and expertise.

Your role will be to support this journey from a risk and control management and reporting perspective. Based on your experience and areas of interest, you can further specialize in operational risk management, business continuity or information security.

Your responsibilities in NIB will consist of:

  • Analyzing and collecting data, causes and consequences to assess the risk profile of the bank and presenting it to senior management and key stakeholders. 
  • Facilitating risk assessments and preparing risk reporting and key-risk indicators.
  • Testing how well NIB meets its own standards and defined controls in various areas of risk and resilience.
  • Support business units with clear and concise advice related to risks and controls.  
  • Creating guidance and support documentation in non-financial risk area. 
  • Supporting activities driven by your colleagues to learn as much as possible of risk management and security area.
  • Assuming a leading role in an area of non-financial risk management, security or resilience. 
  • We are looking for someone who:

  • Builds relationships and can collaborate in a cross-functional role.
  • Is willing to assume a wide responsibility area with a self-directed mindset.
  • Is fluent in spoken and written English with good communication and interpersonal skills. Knowledge of a Nordic language will be an asset.
  • Has a university degree or other higher education qualification.
  • Has training or knowledge of information security, risk management, compliance, audit or quality management.
  • Experience with GRC tools, risk management standards and internal control frameworks is considered an advantage. 
  • Has a minimum of 3–5 years of work experience from an applicable field, such as banking, consulting, compliance or risk/quality management.
