As a Senior Communications Specialist, you will provide leadership and editorial oversight for the production of ADB publications. You will work closely with internal clients to guide manuscripts through the publication process and oversee service providers to ensure timely delivery and excellence in design, editing, and production. 

Responsibilities:

  • Lead production of ADB publications, ensuring quality, timeliness, and adherence to institutional standards.
  • Manage institutional and commercial co-publishing partnerships for ADB publications.
  • Oversee co-publishing and licensing agreements.
  • Safeguard ADB's intellectual property rights for its publications.
  • Stay apprised of changes in technology and publishing best practices to enhance ADB's publishing program.
  • Advise internal clients on publishing best practices and related organizational standards.
  • Ensure ADB's roster of publication production service providers is well managed, high-performing, and aligned with publishing needs.
  • Provide coaching and mentoring to teams and individuals and ensure their ongoing learning and development.
  • Perform other related tasks that may be assigned by the Director, DCKD.

Requirements:

  • Master's degree in Publishing, Communications, Journalism, Marketing, or relevant development fields or University degree in one of these areas and at least 5 years specialized experience relevant to the position can be considered
  • Minimum of 10 years of relevant professional experience, including international work experience.
  • Experience in writing and editing, in a senior editorial role producing corporate or academic reports; management of editorial and design teams.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of all aspects of academic book publishing, as well as the currently emerging trends in marketing and dissemination.
  • Understanding of graphic design, typography, and desktop publishing principles, techniques, and software for digital and print projects.
  • Experience producing print, web, and mobile content using XML workflows;
  • Ability to manage and motivate a team of professionals and to establish and maintain productive working relationships with other ADB departments, authors, colleagues, and vendors.
  • Strong commitment to working in a collaborative and knowledge-sharing environment.
