The Strategic Initiatives, Analytics & Knowledge Management unit in the Corporate Support VPU is a newly created unit focused on enhancing IFC’s knowledge, learning and change management capabilities and to further strengthen our corporate analytics and reporting. The mandate of this new unit is two-pronged: (1) drive innovation and continuous improvement within Corporate Support VPU (COSVPU) and (2) together with all other functions within the VPU and in partnership with Operations Management department and other relevant units across IFC, support senior leadership in designing and implementing the institutional change needed to achieve IFC’s strategic objectives and growth ambitions. 

We are seeking a Senior Operations Officer to conduct successful change programs and deliver impact across the VPU and Corporation.  The incumbent will be accountable for designing and implementing approaches to strategic change programs, advising teams on setting up change projects, advising the VP on the change portfolio, developing KM approaches and mechanisms to contribute to organizational learning.

Duties and Accountabilities:

  • In partnership with key stakeholders across COSVPU and IFC, facilitate the process of implementing IFC’s organizational development strategy and cross-functional improvement initiatives in support of our strategic ambitions. 
  • Ensure that the business case for change is clearly defined, documented, and effectively communicated internally and externally. 
  • Advise and design specific strategic change programs, ensuring consistent approaches with the overall goal of benefits realization.
  • Advise, coach, and support leadership in defining how to best exploit or mitigate upcoming changes or opportunities and secure the most positive outcome for the organization through change management and project management standards.
  • Help leadership at all levels understand the impact of desired changes on people and support teams undergoing change efforts to promote the culture and behaviors we want to nurture in the organization.
  • Lead implementation of cross-functional initiatives to enhance IFC’s agility and more effectively align organizational resources, both financial and human, to our evolving business needs and the vision for the future.
  • Provide information and advice to key stakeholders across the organization to keep them up to date with progress, issues and developments in the change program to enable informed decision-making.
  • Build and support change agent networks across COSVPU and IFC to develop effective and sustainable internal change management capacity.
  • Provide thought leadership on organizational improvement trends, innovative solutions and coming ‘disruptions’ that could transform the way IFC operates and our value proposition.
  • Develop KPIs and dashboards to measure the impact and benefits realization of corporate change initiatives.
  • Develop strategic communications and corporate messaging in support of change programs.
  • Create knowledge centric approaches to support organizational learning, ensuring that knowledge management and continuous improvement is built into ways of working.
  • Build and support communities of practice to foster knowledge development and broaden ownership and impact of both change management and knowledge management.

Selection Criteria:

  • Master’s degree in organizational development, business administration, communications, or related field.
  • At least 10 years of experience in an international organization, private sector corporate or consulting environment with a proven track record of designing, implementing, and driving complex initiatives and influencing at all levels.
  • Experience in leading teams and managing different stakeholders at the same time. 
  • • Genuine commitment to development and IFC’s mission and values. 
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to draw insights from data and translate into strategic messages for a high-level audience. 
  • Deep understanding of IFC’s business and its policies, procedures, operating systems and processes.
  • Outstanding collaboration and influencing skills as demonstrated by proven ability to affect change internally and externally at multiple levels.
  • Strong track record of building and maintaining constructive relationships across multiple organizational units and functions.
  • Thorough knowledge of and practical experience in the design and implementation of various knowledge management and learning approaches, tools and methodologies in the context of digital development. 
  • Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills in English; experience preparing professional quality client-ready materials.
  • Strong project management skills and knowledge of different, with the ability to drive results and work effectively in a rapidly changing and fast-paced environment
  • Strong quality control orientation and attention to detail.
  • Willingness, flexibility, and adaptability to roll up your sleeves and engage in various aspects of COSVPU work from identification and design to implementation and monitoring.
