  •  Serve as programmatic focal point on advocacy efforts, working with program staff to identify advocacy activities, priorities, and opportunities;
  •  Prepare and deliver concise and targeted written reports and presentations for diverse audiences;
  •  Represent the Asia Pacific Regional Office - East Asia Program in internal and external meetings.

What we are looking for:

  •  Work experience in, and nuanced understanding of, at least one field related to justice, human rights, or democratic governance in East Asia;

  •  Native level written and oral communication skills in English; fluency in at least one of the following East Asian languages: Chinese, Korean, or Japanese;
  •  Ability to work efficiently to meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment, and ability to adapt to shifting priorities;
  •  Willingness to travel frequently, both domestically and internationally, once Covid-19 related travel restrictions are lifted;
  •  Commitment to continuous learning and growth in the areas of diversity, equity, inclusion, antiracism and social justice;
  •  Commitment to listening and working with humility; ways of working that are respectful to all people; and that support space and voice for all diverse perspectives in our workplace.

What we offer:

  • Ample opportunities to learn and grow, from annual professional development allowances to onsite trainings and brown bag lunches with visiting experts;
  •  Top-notch benefits and perks designed for your well-being and a healthy work-life balance;
  •  A commitment to creating a diverse and inclusive workplace that enables everyone to bring their full self to work and make a positive impact on the world.
  • If this sounds like the position you have been looking for, please submit your cover letter and CV to recruiting@opensocietyfoundations.org
