The UNICEF Social and Behavior Change programme is at the forefront of delivering social and behavior change results across the C4Cs, through different type of SBC and community engagement programmes and approaches. Key elements of success include ensuring that internal SBC KM platforms and systems are established and maintained to ensure that ESAR COs can effectively access existing guidance and tools when need be and that lessons learned and best practices are consistently captured and shared so that all ESAR COs can fully benefit from other countries experience.

The objectives of the consultancy are:

  • Improvement of the structure and content of the existing SBC repository of key documentation across the different Regional Priorities or C4Cs.
  • Expand and implement of the structure and content of the existing Demand TWG KM site to support the new focus on equity and routine immunization programme recovery
  • Support documentation of SBC interventions, best practices and human-interest stories
  • Prepare and disseminate the ESAR SBC Newsletter and ESAR Immunization Newsletter
  • Maintain the regional fund tracking tool and showcase available SBC human and financial resources in ESARO
  • Support KM capacity building and provide KM assistance to SBC teams at Country Offices in ESAR
  • Support the organization and facilitation of the regional SBC catch-up meetings and knowledge exchange events on priority topics for internal audiences and partners.

Desired competencies, technical background and experience:

  • Education: Social Science Degree or its equivalent is required;
  • Work experience: A minimum of 2 years of professional experience in Social and Behavior Change

Technical knowledge:

  • Knowledge of the individual and social factors related to Social and Behavior Change, preferably but not necessarily in the region.
  • Proven skills in communication, networking, and tools development. Proven skills in knowledge management and dissemination
  • Proven ability to conceptualize, plan and execute ideas as well as ensure knowledge transfer. Strong writing skills.
  • Language Oral and written proficiency in English. French and Portuguese are considered an asset.
