Health Service Delivery Research Group under the Health System and Population Studies Division focuses on supporting the achievement of Universal Health Coverage (UHC) in Bangladesh through health system research, policy research and advocacy to increase accessibility, improve quality and reduce financial barriers to health care services.
The Statistical Officer will be directly involved in the data management activities, clean and organize data, prepare analytical tables, graphs and presentations. The Statistical Officer will report to the Principal Investigator and will be responsible for designing and implementing data collection, management and analysis to attain study objectives. He/she will be responsible for:
Organize and plan routine statistical data processing including collection of caesarean section data both from public and private hospitals at Narayanganj City Corporation;
Apply advanced statistical methods structural equation modelling, risk factor etc, to carry out appropriate statistical analysis in relation to different study designs
Perform statistical quality checks on survey data, process and analyze survey data and propose estimate recommendations.
Design to ensure data validity and reliability; Ability to clarify operational definitions of the analysis variables and statistical analysis results.
Control the process for ensuring good quality of the data collection;
Provide necessary support to the data management team for any inconsistencies in records/ID correction as and when required;
Prepare different types of reports, PowerPoint presentations, and documentation.
Analyze and conduct statistical/mathematical modelling (as mentioned above) on the research data;
Resolve queries and issues related to statistical analysis in order to prepare high-quality manuscripts and reports by the research team.
Train data collector and field team on newly developed data collection tools;
Travel field site to understand the data collection process and collaborating partner whether this is going accordingly or not.
The study sites will be Narayanganj City Corporation and will work on collecting caesarean section data both from public and private hospitals.
Required qualifications and experience:
Masters in Applied Statistics /Statistics from a reputed university with good academic records;
At least 3 years of experience in relevant fields; Candidates who have publications in international peer-reviewed journals will be given preference;
Statistical programming languages including SPSS, STATA/R;
Statistical approaches used in public health research, including study design, sampling design, and advanced statistical analysis;
