The Strategic Partnerships Manager will be responsible for leading a small team of professionals in managing our key donor relationships with DFID, the European Commission, other bilateral donors, multilateral finance institutions, international foundations, and UN agencies. The team is responsible for creating and qualifying new business opportunities that will result in greater income, more programme impact, and more influential partnerships with institutional donors.
The Strategic Partnerships Manager will support the team in designing, implementing, and managing donor fundraising strategies that will deliver on Oxfam’s new long-term programme priorities in Water, Women and Work. The SPM will ensure that Oxfam maintains a strong pipeline of new business opportunities, proposals, strategic partnerships, and income in order to sustain the organisation’s long-term development programmes.
The team leader will provide leadership, expert knowledge and business support to programme and funding staff throughout the organisation in managing our donor relationships to a high professional standard. The team leader will ensure that Oxfam GB manages its home donor accounts to maximum benefit for the confederation’s programmes.
What we're looking for
We are seeking a candidate for this demanding role who has a background in development cooperation or donor relationship management, who has a strong interest in development programming, and who has prior experience working in an organisation like Oxfam. The successful candidate will be a team player and dynamic, people-oriented individual who can work across different departments and levels within Oxfam. The SPM will be expected to lead on our engagement with donor agencies and be available to travel outside of the UK for up to four weeks per annum.
A simple, inescapable truth underlines everything we do at Oxfam. There’s enough wealth in this world to go around. It’s not unfortunate that people live in poverty. It’s unjustifiable. It’s not just their problem. It’s ours too. And with the right support, we can beat poverty and injustice. Thousands of people already commit their time and talents to our campaigning, humanitarian and long-term development projects. Now we’re looking for yours.
