Position: Strategic Projects Manager


  • Work closely with ‘client colleagues’ and broader stakeholders within Plan International, at every stage of a project, solving Plan International’s complex and strategic problems with a mix of technical expertise, creativity and intellectual rigour
  • Manage interdependencies between different strategic projects to ensure coherence in the design and evolution of the PII operating model
  • Collaborate with the Global Hub digital teams to explore how we can embrace emerging technologies and ways of working to improve our customer impact (beneficiaries, partners or internal stakeholders), operational efficiency and team performance
  • Manage demand governance to optimise use of strategic project resources
  • Establish effective engagement with stakeholders to set realistic expectations on projects deliverables, and status throughout the project engagement
  • Shape and scope project based on a clear understanding of stakeholder need, along with the broader strategic direction within Plan International


  • 5+ years of programme and project management experience, ideally with MSP experience
  • Ability to identify and understand business issues and to scope and develop projects into viable proposals, with compelling business cases
  • Effective stakeholder management earning the trust of and negotiating with senior colleagues
  • Quality and diligence, high focus, attention to detail and accountability to see projects th rough to completion
  • Strong understanding and practical experience of designing and implementing operating models at both a corporate and functional level
