Provide technical support to the government and partners in nutrition supply chain management system strengthening. The consultant will support with defining supply interventions to meet programmatic needs, and provide technical and advisory support to government, national systems, and partners on supply chain management. Assist in the development of Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and capacity building for consistency and quality control.

Basic objectives of consultancy/contractor (assignment) services:

  • Provide support to government to strengthen supply chain management, determine areas of improvements and recommend concrete actions to strengthen the availability, quality, and proper use nutrition commodities.
  • Support with the development of a SOP and tools for capacity building.

Provide support to Government to Strengthen Supply Chain Management:

  • Promote/drive supply chain strengthening and change management with governments and partners, to ensure efficient and effective supply chains for children
  • Promote innovative approaches and good practices on supply chain management to ensure effective and efficient supply chains for children.
  • Support development of a Standard Operating Procedure.
  • Field visit conducted to understand the context and identify issues to be addressed and inception report outlining the recommendations, methodology and next steps articulatedStandard Operating Procedure developed and endorsed between GoL and UNICEF for effective Supply Chain
  • One TOT conducted on the developed SOP including forecasting, quantification and stock management of nutrition supplies, end use monitoring etc
  • Training, mentorship and coaching in one health region 
  • Supply workplan developed between MoH/UNICEF/partners to determine priorities and monitor work progress to ensure results are achieved according to schedule and performance standards
  • Performance indicators developed and one field visit conducted to ensure appropriate planning, implementation and monitoring of nutrition supplies.
  • Final consolidated consultancy report covering the work as per ToR.

To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have:

Education:

  • Advance level university degree (Masters) in a relevant technical field, Business Administration, Management, Economics, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Procurement, Contract/Commercial Law, International Development, Health, or related social science field.

Experience:

  • A minimum of eight (8) years of relevant experience mainly in supply chain management and/or other directly related technical fields is required. Having work with nutrition supply chain is an added advantage

Language Skills:

  • Fluency required in English.
  • Other necessary/desirable skills/qualifications.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Willingness to travel and work in field environments
