Job Description

Chemonics seeks a supply chain specialist for the anticipated two-year Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria (the Global Fund) Malawi In-country Supply Chain Integration Project Management Team. The activity will embed a project management team (PMT) within the Central Medical Stores Trust (CMST) in Malawi to champion implementation of activities in the integration roadmap and identify opportunities to improve and sustain in-country operations. This activity will support the Ministry of Health’s priority of supply chain integration, with the end-goal of achieving a fully country-led, patient-centered, integrated supply chain by December 2020. All team members will be based in Lilongwe, and candidates from the region are encouraged to apply. The anticipated start date is March 1, 2019. The supply chain specialist will provide the PMT with information and processes for efficient and effective integration of the entire national health commodities supply chain. He or she will be responsible for developing a warehouse and distribution system of integration and will ensure the consolidation of distribution planning processes to ensure efficiency. The supply chain specialist will additionally advise and implement on an integrated distribution system for all health commodities, with timely availability at the last mile for the sustainable integration of supply chain operations at CMST. Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in supply chain management with a minimum of 10 years of experience in pharmaceutical supply chains or a degree in warehouse management; experience in the pharmaceutical sector preferred
  • Knowledge of appropriate methods for data analysis and reporting
  • Familiar with warehouse management of health products (pharma and non-pharma)
  • Experience in supply chain network optimization
  • Proven ability and knowledge of Microsoft Office required
  • Demonstrated leadership, versatility, and integrity
  • In-depth knowledge of warehouse management software
