Job Description

Chemonics seeks a total market analysis specialist for the USAID Global Health Supply Chain - Procurement and Supply Management (GHSC-PSM) program in Pakistan. The GHSC-PSM project is the primary vehicle through which USAID procures and provides health commodities, provides technical assistance to improve partner countries’ management of the supply chain, and collaborates with key international stakeholders to support global health initiatives. The specialist will conduct a total market analysis for a subset of priority family planning (FP) and maternal, newborn, and child health (MNCH) commodities. This analysis will make the roles that the private and NGO sectors play in the provision of crucial commodities more visible and allow for more targeted assistance to the Pakistani government to improve supply chains relevant to FP and MNCH. The specialist will travel as soon as possible (ideally, in mid-August) to Pakistan. This is a short-term position based in Islamabad, Pakistan. The assignment includes 21 total days of work and may require limited travel. We are looking for individuals who have a passion for making a difference in the lives of people around the world.

Responsibilities include:

  • Meet with appropriate groups to understand the landscape of selected priority FP and MNCH commodities in Pakistan
  • Conduct a total market analysis of MNCH and FP commodities to understand the role private and NGO sectors play in the provision of commodities
  • Provide a written, accurate mapping of the role the private and NGO sectors play in the provision of commodities to inform forecasting and budget advocacy
  • Prepare trip reports outlining the specific technical assistance provided and the next steps necessary to maintain progress and sustainability

  • Master's degree in supply chain management, international relations, or another relevant field preferred
  • Demonstrated knowledge of supply chain management and total market analysis preferred
  • Experience working in developing countries or low-resource settings implementing information technology solutions preferred
  • Knowledge of USAID guidelines preferred
  • Minimum of eight years of technically relevant work experience in market dynamics and supply chain systems
  • Experience working in a cross-cultural environment
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a demonstrated ability to manage relationships and collaborate with global and country-level stakeholders, including stakeholders in health ministries, the government, and the private sector
  • Demonstrated leadership, versatility, and integrity
  • Proficiency in English required; proficiency in Urdu preferred
