Thinking of a Career in Emergency Management?
- BY Nicole Pelette
Max Foundation is a Dutch NGO founded in 2005 that aims to reduce child mortality and improve child health. The goal of our programme is to give children under five a healthy start in life by reducing stunting and the incidence of faecal- and water-borne diseases. Our approach focuses on water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH), while also integrating nutrition and sexual and reproductive health (SRH) components. Currently, we have implemented projects in Bangladesh, Nepal, and will soon expand to Ethiopia. Max Foundation, as a business-driven NGO, supports local entrepreneurs and fosters local, sustainable business models to make sure our results last. We focus on impact maximization, effectiveness, and “Max value for money” (cost-effectiveness).
Your work will focus on impact measurement of our projects in Bangladesh and Nepal. Max Foundation collects large amounts of data that is currently being underutilized. With pro-bono support from Accenture, we are developing a dashboard with key performance indicators (KPIs) to manage our programmes more effectively. You will take a lead role in this initiative, coordinating with the Accenture team. You will support the Monitoring & Evaluation (M&E) team in Bangladesh with managing M&E data on the entire project portfolio, standardizing indicators, and developing a reporting system (Excel). Furthermore, you’ll be the first-line support for the broader priorities of the Amsterdam team. These tasks will cover assignments in areas such as business development and strategic partnership building, communications, and programme management.
We're looking for a result-oriented student or recent graduate (at least BSc. Degree) to start at our office in Amsterdam in August/September 2019 and commit at least 4 days per week for a minimum of 6 months.
This is an exceptional opportunity to gain experience at an international NGO with an ambitious mission. You will not only gain practical experience and knowledge, you will also have the opportunity to cooperate with our partners and expand your network. You will be provided a mentor who will give you guidance throughout your internship.
We will gladly work with your institution to give you academic credit for your experience. A monthly internship stipend will be paid, or alternatively, if you are not a registered student, a monthly volunteer allowance will be paid. Daily travel costs are refunded and lunch is provided.
