Job Description

The Voice & Video Engineer is part of the infrastructure and architecture team that is responsible for supporting the voice and telecommunication services in all IB offices worldwide. It is a highly specialized and technical role which requires a close working relationship with other members of the IT team to keep abreast of future hardware and software requirements and to feed estimates into project plans.

Job Duties:

Analyse, design, test, document, implement and support global voice and video solutions as well as converged network technologies. • Analyse and recommend contemporary and emerging technologies for deployment across the enterprise. • Design and implement unified communication technologies. (Transitioning away from Avaya-Polycom to pure Skype network over the next 2 years) • Configure and troubleshoot voice and video services across the LAN/WAN. • Resolve operational issues involving communication infrastructure and applications. • Provide support to organization’s unified communication technologies. • Administer Mobile Device Management technologies, such as MS Intune, that consume our voice services. • Manage our 20+ Polycom Video Conferencing rooms and associated global vendors across 6 offices worldwide..

Job Requirements:

  • Degree or diploma in IT is ideal but no required.
  • Certifications showing network competency a must.
  • Certifications in Avaya / Polycom / Lync a bonus. 
  • At least (non-negotiable) 3 years of IT experience in VoIP and unified communications technologies.
  • (Avaya / Polycom preferred, Cisco and Lync are acceptable) •
  • Ideally 1 year of experience in provisioning and troubleshooting WAN/LAN services.
  • Strong Voice/Video SysAdmin background a must. 
  • Experience supporting and diagnosing VoIP environments.
  • Advanced troubleshooting of Avaya / Polycom infrastructure and basic troubleshooting of LAN/WAN equipment. 
  • Strong knowledge of VoIP protocols, such as SIP, H.323, RTP, TFTP and related an absolute must •
  • Working knowledge of network access issues that impact VoIP performance as well as their measurement and analysis.
  • A strong team player with experience of working in multi-cultural environment.
  • Ability to work in a virtual team across regions and must be prepared to work outside of normal office hours when required e.g. to perform out of hours’ support and maintenance work. ”Knowledge of the IB, IB Programmes or being an IB Alumnus is a plus”;
