The Role

Oxfam is fortunate to have thousands of amazing, dedicated volunteers to support us in our mission to help beat poverty for good. From shop volunteers to festival stewards, and from community fundraisers to constituency campaigners, all have a vital role to play in supporting our organisation.

The Volunteering Portfolio & Engagement Manager role offers a great opportunity help manage and shape our portfolio of different volunteering offers, encouraging more people to give their valuable time to support Oxfam. This role has responsibility for optimising each proposition to increase acquisition and retention of volunteers, but also has an important focus on improving the overall volunteer experience and ensuring that the voice of our volunteers is heard.

The role has responsibility for designing audience focused integrated marketing campaigns in line with our public engagement plan, with the aim to encourage people to commit their time to support our cause.

What we are looking for

  • You have extensive experience of developing and delivering compelling products and propositions to meet audience needs. You are a creative marketer, with experience of working on innovative marketing solutions and promotional plans in a charity (or similar) environment.
  • You have excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to build effective working relationships with different key stakeholders.
  • Your strong project management experience means you are exceptionally organised and able to meet deadlines. You will need to be skilled at creating impact with small budgets, whilst ensuring our brand, income and engagement objectives are delivered.
  • You will be keen to bring the voice and needs of our volunteers into your work, and will have a focus on gathering and sharing best practice across our volunteer offers. You will be comfortable consulting widely across all levels and interpreting feedback to help make decisions on activities.
  • Importantly, you will have a passion for volunteering, with significant knowledge and understanding of the current volunteering environment.
