Job Description

MAIN MISSION

The two Monitor positions will be based one in Dioila in Mali, the other in Télimélé in Guinea under the managerial direction of the NGO ALIMA. They will work under the supervision of the AIRE project coordinator and with the International Research Monitor based at Inserm Toulouse.

The Research Monitor will be in remote contact with the ALIMA team in Dakar, with the research team in Toulouse, the research team of the project in Côte d'Ivoire (PACCI Program, Abidjan) and the teams from each country, comprising: a principal investigating physician, a country coordinator, a financial manager, a monitoring and evaluation officer, a clinical research associate, 6 nurses (investigators, advisers) and the experts involved (economist of the health, sociologists, doctors).

The missions of the country monitor of the AIRE research component will be to:

  • Assist the country project manager in the establishment and monitoring of AIRE research studies in the country, in particular the implementation of the assessments of the context, the quantitative process and the consequences (specific consultants for the qualitative assessment of the process) clinic for the implementation of the Pulse Oximeter in primary health centers;
  • Coordinate research activities with research sites in the country in conjunction with the project monitoring and evaluation manager and the clinical research assistant;
  • Contribute to the training of country research teams on research needs
  • Clinic and public health, data collection;
  • Ensure the activities related to the definition, collection, and monitoring of data;
  • Ensure monitoring activities (tables) and data control and correction requests from the sites in partnership with the project monitoring and evaluation managers based in the country and in Dakar and the data management team in Abidjan;
  • Guarantee the quality of the data collected according to the rules of Good Clinical Practice;
  • Ensure compliance with regulations and quality assurance rules;
  • Write and revise quality documents relating to its functions and activities;
  • Provide training and information to research partners in the country.

  • Management and follow-up of non-conformities and deviations from the protocol
  • Classification and archiving of study documents
  • Ensure the development, management and implementation of monitoring tools (tables) and data control;
  • Contribute to the analysis of data and the valuation of results with the AIRE Research team;
  • Contribute to the training of the AIRE team on aspects relating to the collection, management, quality, transfer and storage of data;
  • Exchange regularly with the other partners of the consortium on issues relating to data management, storage, sharing, security and data transfer;

EXPERIENCES AND SKILLS

  • Doctor, pharmacist or graduate epidemiologist
  • Have at least 4 years of experience in the fields of health in sub-Saharan Africa,
  • Have knowledge of the methodology of research and regulation of clinical studies and recommendations of good clinical practice;
  • Have experience in the field of medical research and in the publication of scientific articles,
  • Have knowledge of the methodology of research and regulation of clinical studies and recommendations of good clinical practice;
  • Have experience in the implementation and conduct of research including management of field teams, collection of quantitative and qualitative data, data management, data analysis and report writing,
  • Have a good knowledge of word processing software, database management, and basic statistical tools;
  • Have a rigor and sense of organization,
  • Working in English: technical knowledge
  • Have interpersonal skills and team management to work in an atmosphere of mutual trust and respect,
  • Be able to take on responsibilities and manage a complex project remotely with internal and external project partners: teleconference and travel to study sites in the country
  • Being able to work in a team and transfer know-how.
